NSW Department of Communities and Justice at Frank Baxter Youth Justice Centre in Kariong seeks Youth Officers for casual and temporary-to-ongoing roles. The job involves shift work on a 24/7 roster, with five weeks of full-time induction ITAP training to prepare you before starting.

Applicants should bring resilience, strong communication, and a willingness to engage with diverse communities. NSW P2 Driver Licence and clear Working With Children Check are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum NSW P2 Driver Licence.
• Current First Aid certificate (HLTAID011).
• Working With Children Check clearance.
• Ability to pass medical, fitness and criminal history checks.
• Willingness to complete 5 weeks of full-time ITAP training.

Responsabilités

• Support daily routines, wellbeing and personal development.
• Encourage participation in education, vocational and recreational programs.
• Act as a positive role model and guide behaviour change.
• Respond calmly to challenging situations.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and structured environment.
• Assist with appointments such as court, medical or casework.
