Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC – Melbourne VIC is seeking a Case Officer for the Enhanced Bail and Support Service to support young people subject to bail with case management and home visits. You will work with families, courts and community supports to promote rehabilitation and build life skills.

This rostered, full-time role offers after-hours duties, training, and opportunities to make meaningful shifts in young lives across Sunshine and Dandenong.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in social work, youth work, psychology, human services, criminology or criminal justice is desirable.
• Full driver’s licence and a current Working with Children Check are required.
• Ability to establish rapport with young people and stakeholders.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide case support to young people subject to enhanced supervision and monitoring.
• Deliver after-hours support including transport to school, work, appointments, and activities.
• Work with families and community supports to promote rehabilitation and build life skills.
• Install, remove, troubleshoot and maintain electronic monitoring devices for EBSS participants.
• Collaborate with courts and services to support accountability and rehabilitation.
• Manage competing priorities with a flexible, adaptable approach.
