PCYC Mareeba Youth Club in Queensland is seeking a Youth Homelessness Support Worker to provide direct support to young people through after-school programs and community activities. You will build trusted relationships, assess risks and needs, and coordinate case management to connect youth with essential services.

The role works with schools, families and community partners to improve outcomes, with a focus on safe, supportive environments for youth and ongoing community engagement.

Qualifications

• Hold (or able to obtain before commencement) a QLD Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and consent to a National Police Check
• Minimum Certificate IV in youth work, community development/welfare, human services or related discipline, or equivalent (desirable)
• Relevant experience in social and community sector (desirable)
• Current open driver’s license, eligible to obtain an RDF if required
• Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate or willing to obtain

Responsabilités

• Deliver direct support to young people identified through after-school programs and community engagement activities
• Build trusted relationships, identify risks and support needs, provide case management
• Connect young people with appropriate services to prevent/address homelessness
• Collaborate with schools, families and community agencies to improve outcomes for vulnerable youth
