Job summary

Ted Noffs Foundation is seeking an Alcohol and Other Drugs Worker (Part-time) for the Palm Youth Rehab program in Watson, ACT. The role involves providing holistic, residential support to youths aged 13–18, with a focus on trauma-informed care and collaborative treatment planning.

The position offers an opportunity to work within a therapeutic community, addressing drug-related difficulties through counselling, family support, and skills development.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification as listed: Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Youth Work or Community Service or equivalent.
• Experience with young people, preferably with alcohol and other drug related difficulties.
• Capacity and willingness to work rotating shifts including day, evening, night, sleepover and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day running of the household and residents' chores.
• Provide information and support to residents during the program and re-entry into the community.
• Under supervision, facilitate group sessions per Program manual.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment free of harassment.
• Assist in care plans and support to counsellors.
• Participate in staff meetings and training.
• Engage with clients and promote harm minimisation.
• Ensure compliance with ACT WWVP requirements.
