Job summary

Elevation Secondary College in Melbourne's northern growth corridor is seeking a Year Level Coordinator for 2027. The appointee will undertake classroom teaching duties while also leading Year Level initiatives and coordinating with senior leaders to support student learning and wellbeing.

The role combines instructional practice with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring staff, data-informed planning, and contributing to school-wide priorities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience planning high impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student growth.
• Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and the school community.
• Engagement in professional learning and reflection to continually improve teaching quality.
• Demonstrated behaviours aligned with Department values and a collaborative, improvement-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an orderly classroom environment and perform duties of a classroom teacher.
• Lead as Year Level Coordinator and work with a Year Level team under senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Year Level Leading Teacher and Assistant Principals; coordinate with another Year Level Coordinator.
• Receive time allowances and special payment for student leadership and management responsibilities.
• Contribute to school policies and priorities through mentorship, data-informed practice and evaluation of teaching quality.
