Job summary

Pedare Christian College is seeking a Year 6 Coordinator to lead pastoral care for Year 6 students and coordinate wellbeing initiatives within the Middle School. The role involves collaboration with Year 6 Core Teachers, counsellors, and staff to promote student welfare and academic progress.

The role requires current South Australian Teacher Registration, WWCC, RRHAN, and First Aid/ CPR certs, with a 3-year term and potential extension.

Qualifications

• South Australia Teacher Registration Certificate required.
• WWCC (Working With Children Check) required.
• RRHAN certificate required.
• First Aid and CPR Certificate preferred.
• Academic transcripts and degrees/certificates required.

Responsibilities

• Know every Year 6 student and promote their growth and development with Year 6 Core Teachers.
• Develop proactive programs to ensure optimal student wellbeing.
• Identify and manage students identified as at risk.
• Counsel students on disciplinary matters and liaise with Deputy Principal – Student Life and Wellbeing and Head of Middle School.
• Provide leadership and support to Year 6 Core Teachers.
• Monitor student academic performance through assessments, reports and regular consultations.
• Promote a trusting, caring classroom approach.
• Collaborate with Pedare staff across teams.
• Maintain welfare focus for students and relate teacher-student relationships to pastoral/educational aspects.
• Some out-of-hours work may be required.
