Job summary

De La Salle College Malvern is seeking a Year 9 Coordinator (POL3) to lead pastoral care, wellbeing and student development in Term 1, 2027. You will work with mentors, the Director of Middle School and Deputy Principal – Staff & Students to support students’ personal and academic growth within MACS frameworks.

The role requires a Bachelor of Education (Masters preferred), VIT registration, strong leadership, and a commitment to inclusive practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification (Masters Degree an advantage).
Experience in relevant educational leadership.
Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
A strong commitment to Catholic education.
Ability to build professional relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
Skills to create an engaging, differentiated learning environment.

Responsibilities

Liaise with mentors and staff to manage pastoral care and counselling programs.
Be aware of social, emotional, physical, academic and spiritual development.
Monitor academic progress and design intervention strategies.
Coordinate year-level activities and cocurriculars (excursions, retreats, camps).
Collaborate with Deputy Principal and Middle School for wellbeing programs.
Oversee Case Management and liaise with external agencies when needed.
Set professional standards for the team to link wellbeing and learning.
Adhere to Child Protection Policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
Maintain up-to-date student data management systems.
Participate in ongoing PD per VIT guidelines.
Engage in internal and external PD to enhance teaching practices.
Utilize diverse teaching methods to engage students.
