Job summary

Sidelink Transport is seeking a reliable yard driver to support daily preloading and yard operations in Melbourne's western precinct. You will work under the Nightshift Fleet Controller and contribute to efficient trailer movement.

The role requires HC/LF licenses, experience in wharf transport, and the ability to operate Tug Truck, Sideloader and Reach Stacker as needed. Join Victoria's growing wharf transport team.

Qualifications

• Valid HC License (some on road driving will apply)
• Valid LF/RS License
• Ability to follow processes
• Experience in wharf transport industry
• Some experience with operating Twin Pick/Reachstacker Forks
• Demonstrate knowledge of Workplace health and safety
• Patience and perseverance to deal with ongoing changes

Responsibilities

• Preload trailers by Tug Truck, including Semi and Sideloader for Dayshift
• Set up the yard for easy access to collect loaded trailers
• Understand yard layout to maximise productivity
• Set up trailers in Workshop for mechanics on Dayshift
• Occasional relief driving with Reach Stacker or Twin Pick Fork as a relief driver (covering sick leave or annual leave)

Job description

Reporting directly to the Nightshift Fleet Controller, you will carry out daily tasks including preloading trailers by Tug Truck, setting up the yard for easy access to collect loaded trailers, and understanding yard layout to maximise productivity.

• Preload trailers by Tug Truck, both Semi and Sideloader for Dayshift
• Set up the yard for easy access to collect loaded trailers
• Understand how the yard is to be laid out to maximise productivity
• Set up trailers in Workshop for mechanics on Dayshift
• Occasional work in Reach Stacker or Twin Pick Fork as a relief driver (covering sick leave or annual leave)
