Job summary

The Midfield Group in Warrnambool, VIC is seeking a Yard Driver to join our transport team. You will load, unload, and move semi-trailers, operate the Daysworth terminal tractor, shuttle trailers, and deliver by-products between Midfield sites.

You will perform pre-start checks and maintain clean, compliant vehicles. You will work a mix of days and nights with occasional Saturday shifts, reporting safety issues and keeping precise records.

Qualifications

• A heavy vehicle licence and relevant driving experience.
• Experience operating a terminal tractor or similar is desirable.
• Good understanding of road safety and driving requirements.
• Reliable, safety-focused and responsible.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and record-keeping.
• Able to work flexible hours including Saturdays.
• Willingness to learn and undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and move semi-trailers around the Midfield site.
• Operate the automatic Daysworth terminal tractor.
• Shuttle trailers in and out of Midfield premises.
• Deliver offal and by-products to Midfield-owned sites as required.
• Complete pre-start and post-shift vehicle checks.
• Maintain vehicles in a clean and tidy condition.
• Report safety, maintenance or operational issues to supervision.
• Maintain accurate driving records and documentation.
• Follow safety, hygiene and operational procedures.
• Work Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday mornings.
• Be reliable, flexible and willing to undertake training.
• Embrace new technology and systems.
