Job summary

Syscon, now proudly owned by Borg Group and managed by Crossmuller, seeks a reliable Yard Hand / Storeman for its new Vineyard facility. You will receive, organise and move materials, maintain the yard and support civil and electrical crews with general labouring and material handling.

The role requires practical, safety‑focused individuals who can work independently or with a team and contribute to developing scalable processes as the site grows.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, stores, logistics, civil construction or similar environment.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• White Card.
• Ability to perform physical, outdoor work.
• Ability to safely load, unload and handle materials and equipment.
• Experience working around construction or electrical infrastructure environments is advantageous.
• HR Unrestricted Licence, Forklift Licence and Telehandler experience/licence highly favourable.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver goods, materials and equipment to vineyard and project sites.
• Sort, sift and dispose of spoil and general site waste.
• Safely dispose of cable drums, scrap timber and other unwanted materials.
• Complete daily clean‑up duties following civil and construction crews.
• Maintain warehouse organisation, cleanliness and stock areas.
• Carry out daily cleaning and maintenance of the yard, access areas and driveways.
• Load cables onto frames and prepare materials for transport or installation.
• Load trucks safely and securely in accordance with workplace procedures.
• Unload trucks and safely position materials and equipment in designated areas.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment across the yard, warehouse and project areas.
• Assist site and civil crews with general labouring, material handling and yard duties as required.
• Check incoming and outgoing deliveries and ensure delivery dockets, purchase orders and materials all align.
• Assist with stock control, material movements and general stores duties.
• Identify and report damaged, missing or incorrect materials.
• Follow all company safety, environmental and operational procedures.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and dependable Yard Hand / Storeman to support the day‑to‑day operation of our new Vineyard facility.

You will be responsible for receiving, organising, loading and unloading materials and equipment, maintaining the yard and warehouse, and supporting civil and electrical crews with general labouring and material handling duties.

The successful candidate will be practical, organised and safety-focused, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
