Job summary

Autosports Group Limited is seeking a Yard Hand to support vehicle deliveries, stock movement and yard maintenance at our Canterbury dealership in NSW. The role requires reliability, a proactive approach and the ability to work outdoors.

You will work closely with sales and service teams to ensure dealership standards are met. A current driver's licence and attention to detail are essential, with experience in automotive handling seen as an advantage.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of motor vehicles and paint/maintenance practices.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must have a current driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning and detailing of vehicles (interior & exterior).
• Inspect vehicles for defects and report issues to supervisor.
• Maintain detailing equipment and ensure safe, clean work area.
• Assist with stock movement and yard maintenance as directed.
• Assist with fitting number plates to vehicles.

About The Role

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Yard Hand to join the team. This hands-on role requires a reliable and proactive approach, as well as the ability to work efficiently in an outdoor environment. You will work closely with the sales and service teams to support vehicle deliveries, stock movement, and general yard maintenance. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic are essential to ensure vehicles are handled with care and dealership standards are consistently met.

Main Duties:

• Performing thorough cleaning and detailing of vehicles, both interior and exterior
• Inspecting vehicles for defects and reporting any issues to the supervisor.
• Maintaining and organizing detailing equipment and supplies.
• Ensuring a safe and clean working environment
• Maintain the wash bay and detailing area in a clean and orderly way to maximise productivity and minimise health and safety risks.
• Ensure all chemicals are stored and managed responsible.
• Perform other tasks/duties requested/assigned by supervisors, department managers or directors from time to time.
• Maintain the area around the dealership ensuring it is clean and tidy at all times.
• Fit number plates to new and used vehicles.

Skills and experience

• A basic knowledge of motor vehicles and maintenance procedures
• A basic knowledge of techniques of paint and fabric preparation and maintenance
• A high attention to detail
• Confidence to report concerns or questions to managers as appropriate
• Ability to multi skill and prioritise duties
• A current driver's licence
• Experience in a similar position in automotive industry (desirable)
• Understanding of the typical business structures of the retail automotive industry an advantage
• An honest and professional nature
