Job summary

Grand River Personnel Limited is seeking a Service Desk/ Yard Dispatcher for a full-time mat leave position in Bright, VIC. The role involves handling dispatch work for trucks, coordinating yard activities, and maintaining shipping records. You will interact with drivers, customers, and internal teams, ensuring accurate load information and ERP updates.

Qualifications

Experience in dispatch, logistics or customer service.
Able to work with equipment and trucks to ensure ease of unloading/loading.
Basic ERP and computer skills.
Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) is an asset.

Responsibilities

Be the first point of contact for all truck drivers entering the yard.
Operate the truck scale and communicate load requirements with yard operators (using CB radio).
Coordinate with warehouse and yard team for efficient receiving of inbound shipments.
Prepare and maintain organized records of shipping (e.g. bills of lading, customs documents).
Update ERP with order status changes.
Greet and assist customers, and visitors at our front desk.
Manage phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate team members.
Assist the Order Entry team with entering new sales orders.
