Grand River Personnel Limited is representing a client seeking a Service Desk/ Yard Dispatcher. This full-time mat leave position offers an hourly rate starting at $24.00/hour and a fast-paced workplace. The role centers on yard dispatch, driver coordination, records maintenance, and ERP updates.

The candidate will interact with drivers, warehouse teams, and front-desk visitors, ensuring accurate loading/unloading and timely shipments while maintaining clear communications.

Qualifications

• Experience in dispatch, logistics, or customer service is preferred.
• Comfortable working with equipment and trucks for unloading/loading.
• Basic ERP system and computer skills preferred.
• Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) is an asset.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple teams under time constraints.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Quick on your feet in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for all truck drivers entering the yard.
• Operate the truck scale and communicate load requirements with yard operators.
• Coordinate with warehouse and yard team for inbound shipments.
• Prepare and maintain organized records of shipping and receiving paperwork.
• Update ERP with order status changes.
• Greet and assist customers and visitors at the front desk.
• Manage phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate team members.
• Assist the Order Entry team with entering new sales orders.

Our client, with a facility 30 minutes outside of Kitchener, is looking for a Service Desk/ Yard Dispatcher to join their team in a full-time Mat Leave position!

Job Responsibilities:

• Be the first point of contact for all truck drivers entering the yard.
• Operate the truck scale and communicate load requirements with yard operators (using CB radio).
• Coordinate with warehouse and yard team for efficient receiving of inbound shipments.
• Prepare and maintain organized records of shipping (ie. bills of lading, customs documents, etc.) and receiving paperwork.
• Update ERP with order status changes.
• Greet and assist customers, and visitors at our front desk.
• Manage phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate team members.
• Assist the Order Entry team with entering new sales orders.

Required Skills:

• Experience in dispatch, logistics, or customer service is preferred.
• Comfortable working with equipment and trucks to ensure ease of unloading/ loading of product
• Basic ERP system and computer skills preferred.
• Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) an ASSET
