Bis Industries in Tomago, NSW, invites you to start your trade career as a Mechanical Trades Assistant. You’ll be hands-on with maintenance, repairs and rebuilds on heavy haulage and mobile equipment, while a clear pathway leads into an Adult Apprenticeship after 2 years.

You’ll gain real training, real equipment experience, and a supportive team focused on Zero Harm, safety and career progression, with flexible rosters and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current Forklift (LF) licence required.
• At least 2 years in a mechanical/workshop environment.
• Willingness to learn and become a qualified tradesperson.
• Ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with maintenance, repairs and rebuilds on heavy haulage and mobile equipment
• Operating forklifts and supporting parts handling/stores functions
• Keeping the workshop clean, organised and compliant
• Completing job cards and maintenance documentation accurately
• Learning the trade directly from experienced fitters, boilermakers and electricians
