Job summary

Ampcontrol in Thornton, Queensland is seeking a proactive Workshop Supervisor for the Cable Services team. You will lead up to 10 employees, oversee day-to-day workshop operations, production scheduling, customer support, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet safety, quality and delivery targets.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will mentor and develop staff, provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is required.
• Strong problem-solving and people-management skills are essential.
• Good time management and organisational skills are required.
• Experience using MS Office and ERP systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, mentor and develop a high-performing workshop team.
• Manage production schedules to achieve delivery targets and customer commitments.
• Provide technical support and advice to customers and workshop personnel.
• Prepare quotations and damage reports with competitive pricing.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor inventory levels, stock control and stocktakes.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance safety, quality and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and company procedures.
• Promote safety culture via toolbox talks, inspections and risk assessments.
• Support workshop reporting, forecasting and performance reviews.

We're looking for a proactive Workshop Supervisor to join our Cable Services team in Thornton, driving safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

As the Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and developing a team of up to 10 employees while overseeing day-to-day workshop operations, production scheduling, customer support, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring workshop performance meets customer expectations, production targets, and quality standards. You will provide technical support to customers and workshop personnel, mentor and develop employees, and work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
