Job summary

Ampcontrol is seeking an Electrical Team Leader in Perth to guide field service projects and maintenance. You’ll lead customer-site teams, ensure safety, coordinate schedules and deliver high-quality electrical work with focus on compliance and continuous improvement.

You will mentor technicians, interpret schematics, and maintain strong client relationships while driving efficient operations and safety outcomes on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising electrical teams within industrial, mining, resources, utilities or infrastructure environments.
• Experience with fault finding, maintenance and testing of electrical systems and associated infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, leaders and team members.
• Experience with Standalone Power Systems is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support electrical teams on customer sites, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with HSEQ requirements, SWMS, Take 5s and all relevant safety procedures.
• Coordinate daily work activities, resource allocation and job scheduling to achieve project outcomes and customer expectations.
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks and pre-start meetings to drive continuous improvement and safe work practices.
• Support development and mentoring of team members through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Assist with documentation control, testing records, job packs and reporting requirements to ensure quality and consistency.
• Work closely with customers to provide professional communication, technical support and high-quality service delivery.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to innovations that enhance team performance and operational efficiency.

As an Electrical Team Leader based in Perth, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical services across customer sites, leading by example and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. Working closely with the Field Service Manager, you'll support a skilled team of electrical professionals while building strong customer relationships and driving operational excellence.

What You'll Do:

In this hands-on leadership role, you'll support the safe and successful delivery of electrical field service projects and maintenance activities, including:

• Lead and support electrical teams on customer sites, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with HSEQ requirements, SWMS, Take 5s and all relevant safety procedures.

• Support the development and mentoring of team members through coaching, guidance and knowledge sharing.
• Assist with documentation control, testing records, job packs and reporting requirements to ensure quality and consistency.
• Work closely with customers to provide professional communication, technical support and high-quality service delivery.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to innovations that enhance team performance and operational efficiency.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or cost impacts and elevate issues where required.
• Ensure testing equipment, tools and associated plant are maintained and fit for purpose before field deployment.

About You:

We're looking for a motivated leader who is passionate about safety, customer service and developing high-performing teams.

You will ideally bring:

• Trade qualifications in an Electrical discipline.
• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising electrical teams within industrial, mining, resources, utilities or infrastructure environments.
• A strong commitment to safety and a proven ability to lead safe work practices in the field.
• Experience with fault finding, maintenance and testing of electrical systems and associated infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, leaders and team members.
• Experience managing competing priorities and delivering work within demanding schedules.
• Experience with Standalone Power Systems is highly regarded
• Competency in Microsoft Office applications.

Additional qualifications and certifications, or the motivation to obtain them, including an Electrical Engineering Diploma/Degree, Project Management certification, MR Licence, Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights, or Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor appointment, will be highly regarded.
