Job summary

Mancala Group in Bendigo, Victoria, is seeking an experienced Workshop Superintendent to lead our mining services workshop operations. You will oversee the maintenance and mobilisation of the fleet, maximise equipment availability, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement with a hands-on leadership approach.

• Mechanical trade qualification or similar technical background.
• Proven leadership experience in workshop, maintenance or plant management.
• Strong knowledge of mining mobile plant maintenance and asset management.
• Experience in mining, civil construction, heavy industry or contracting services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of tradespeople and support personnel.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all workshop and maintenance activities.
• Manage the maintenance, repair, rebuild and mobilisation of Mancala's plant and equipment fleet.
• Develop and implement planned maintenance schedules to maximise equipment availability and reliability.
• Oversee workshop operations, fabrication projects and project support activities.
• Ensure equipment is compliant with statutory, company and client requirements.
• Manage equipment breakdowns, troubleshooting and maintenance support to operational projects.
• Oversee inventory, tooling, spare parts and supplier relationships to optimise cost and efficiency.
• Monitor asset performance and identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs and improve equipment utilisation.
• Assist with procurement, equipment hire, tender support and capital equipment evaluations.
• Manage maintenance budgets, labour recovery and workshop performance KPI's.
• Ensure maintenance records, compliance documentation and asset management systems remain accurate and up to date.
• Contribute to business improvement initiatives and support business growth opportunities.

Position Overview

Mancala is seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Superintendent to lead our Bendigo based mining services workshop operations and support project delivery through the effective management of plant, equipment, and maintenance services.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maximising equipment availability, ensuring compliance and reliability, managing workshop personnel, and driving continuous improvement across maintenance and asset management activities. You will work closely with operational leaders, project teams to ensure Mancala's fleet and equipment are maintained to the highest standards while achieving safety, operational and financial objectives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Mechanical trade qualification or similar relevant technical background.
• Proven leadership experience in a workshop, maintenance or plant management environment.
• Strong knowledge of mining mobile plant maintenance, equipment reliability and asset management practices.
• Experience within mining, civil construction, heavy industry or contracting services.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities and deliver operational outcomes.
• Strong planning, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
