We are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our aviation workshop operations at Brisbane Airport.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the day-to-day performance of our Brisbane workshop. You will lead a team of technicians, coordinate workflow and resources, maintain high safety and quality standards, and ensure equipment is repaired, maintained and returned to service efficiently.
Working closely with our Service, Parts and Administration teams, you will have ownership across safety, productivity, quality, customer satisfaction and workshop performance.
Lead the day-to-day operation of the Brisbane Airport workshop.
Allocate and prioritise work to maximise technician productivity and equipment availability.
Lead, mentor and develop technicians while building a positive, accountable team culture.
Provide technical guidance and support with complex diagnostics and repairs.
Ensure maintenance, repairs, testing and commissioning meet OEM and company standards.
Manage workshop scheduling, WIP, labour efficiency, parts requirements and subcontractors.
Maintain strong safety, compliance and housekeeping standards.
Work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure jobs are completed on time and to a high standard.
Monitor workshop performance and drive practical continuous improvement initiatives.
The position has a strong operational focus, with performance measured across technician utilisation, labour recovery, job completion, turnaround times, first-time fix rates, quality, safety and customer satisfaction.
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with proven people leadership. You may currently be a Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor, Leading Hand or Service Manager.
Ideally, you will bring:
Previous experience leading technicians within a workshop or service environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge, with exposure to hydraulics and electrical diagnostics highly regarded.
Excellent planning, organisation and workflow management skills.
A practical understanding of workshop productivity, labour efficiency and WIP.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
A safety-focused approach and commitment to quality workmanship.
Confident communication skills with technicians, customers and management.
Experience with aviation, GSE, heavy equipment, earthmoving, automotive, industrial equipment or a similar technical environment will be highly regarded.
