Wood Recruitment is assisting a Bibra Lake-based client seeking an experienced Workshop Leading Hand to lead a fabrication team. The role remains hands-on, with oversight from the floor and reporting to the Workshop Production Manager.

You will supervise fabricators, read drawings, coordinate daily tasks, and provide real-time technical support while ensuring safety and quality in every job.

Formación

• Strong fabrication and welding experience on structural steel.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
• Experience in container modification or heavy fabrication is highly regarded.
• Proven experience as a Leading Hand or senior trade-based role.
• Understanding of workflow coordination and job scheduling.
• Solid knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.

Responsabilidades

• Performing hands-on fabrication, welding, and container modification work.
• Supervising and supporting fabricators, trade assistants, and contractors on the workshop floor.
• Allocating and prioritising daily tasks in line with production requirements.
• Providing real-time technical guidance and troubleshooting support.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and meets quality standards.
• Assisting with short-term workflow planning and job scheduling.
• Monitoring team productivity and addressing workflow issues.
• Coordinating with the Workshop Production Manager on job progress and priorities.
• Ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are ready for upcoming work.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
• Supporting safety compliance and maintaining high workshop standards.

Our client is seeking an experienced Workshop Leading Hand to join their fabrication team based in Bibra Lake. This is a full-time opportunity suited to a senior fabricator or welder looking to step into a leadership role while remaining hands-on. Reporting to the Workshop Production Manager, you’ll lead from the floor, support the team, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
