Koppen Construction is seeking a reliable and motivated Workshop & Yard Assistant to join our team in Cairns. This hands-on role involves maintaining a safe, organized workshop and yard while supporting our workshop operations.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will perform day-to-day maintenance, organize sheds and yard areas, and ensure compliance with safety requirements. The role offers stability in a civil construction environment with diverse day-to-day tasks.

Qualifications

• Forklift ticket required.
• Strong awareness of workshop safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workshop and yard environment.
• Demonstrate a strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Carry out general yard maintenance, including gardens, lawns, and surrounding areas.
• Perform fence maintenance and regularly inspect fence lines to ensure they remain secure and in good condition.
• Coordinate and organize equipment and materials returned from site, ensuring they are correctly stored and accounted for.
• Undertake routine oil separator pit maintenance and maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Coordinate the placement, storage, and organization of parts and materials within shed spaces.
• Maintain clear and accessible storage areas so equipment and materials can be easily located when required.
• Assist workshop personnel with general labouring, cleaning, moving, and organizing tasks.
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and safety requirements at all times.

About the Role
