Job summary

Marble Group is seeking a versatile boilermaker for a major underground hard rock operation in North QLD. The role is primarily workshop-based with field service, offering 8:6 dayshift roster and 12-hour days. Charter FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns is provided, with a well-equipped workshop and opportunities for career progression.

You will weld across Stick, MIG and TIG, fabricate and repair mining equipment, and work to site drawings and procedures while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Trade cert is essential.
• Experience in mining heavy industry or related fields is advantageous.
• Able to work safely as part of a team and adapt to shift needs.

Responsibilities

• Weld across Stick, MIG and TIG as required by shift.
• Fabrication, repairs and modifications to mining equipment and site infrastructure.
• Field service responding to breakdowns and repairs across site.
• Work to drawings, welding procedures and site standards.
• Conduct equipment inspections and report defects.
• Support shutdowns, upgrades and installation projects.

Job description

This is not an average boilermaker role! This is primarily a workshop position at a major underground hard rock operation in North QLD where no two days look the same. Work across a broad range of tasks, with field work thrown in when needs it.

• If you're a versatile boilermaker who can adapt to what the shift needs and wants to build something long-term at a well-run site, this one is worth a conversation.
• 8:6 roster across dayshift only + 12 hour days.
• Charter FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, all organised for you.
• Workshop-based with field work as required - get to have variety each swing.
• Work within a well-resourced workshop at a large, modern underground operation.

The Role & Duties

Be part of the fixed maintenance trades team - primarily workshop-based with field service as required. You'll need to be confident across Stick, MIG and TIG and ready to take on whatever the shift throws at you.

• Welding across Stick, MIG and TIG - fluid and flexible depending on what the shift requires
• Fabrication, repairs and modifications to mining equipment and site infrastructure
• Wear plate welding, structural repairs and component fabrication to site specifications
• Field service responding to breakdowns and repairs across site as required
• Working to drawings, welding procedures and site standards at all times
• Equipment inspections, defect identification and reporting
• Supporting shutdown work, upgrades and installation projects as needed

Your Skills & Experience

The trade cert is essential - beyond that you need to be adaptable, safety-focused and comfortable across multiple welding processes without needing to be told twice.

• Proficient across Stick, MIG and TIG welding processes
• Experience in mining, heavy industry, construction, manufacturing or oil & gas well regardedAble to work to drawings, welding procedures and site standards
• Flexible and adaptable - comfortable shifting between workshop and field tasks as required
• Strong commitment to safety and working as part of a team
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and national police check
