Job summary

CommBank's Workplace Relations team provides expert guidance across employee matters, partnering with leaders and HR Business Partners to deliver practical solutions. As a Workplace Relations Specialist, you’ll handle matters from enquiry to resolution, balancing policy, wellbeing and business needs.

You will conduct or support investigations, advise on misconduct and performance management, and work with unions and regulators as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in employee/workplace relations within corporate, consulting or legal environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian workplace relations legislation and employment frameworks.
• Experience in workplace investigations, case management and dispute resolution.
• Experience supporting misconduct, performance management, grievances and workplace complaints.
• Strong stakeholder management and the ability to provide pragmatic advice in complex situations.
• Excellent judgement and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and a high volume of work.
• Strong written communication for investigation and case documentation.
• Tertiary qualifications in HR, Employment Relations, Law or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Managing a diverse portfolio of employee and workplace relations matters from assessment through to resolution.
• Providing advice on performance management, misconduct, grievances, workplace disputes, personal illness matters, discrimination, harassment and bullying concerns.
• Conducting or supporting workplace investigations and fact-finding activities.
• Partnering with leaders, HR Business Partners and other stakeholders to resolve complex people matters.
• Supporting external matters involving workplace representatives, solicitors, unions and regulatory bodies where required.
• Assisting with unfair dismissal and other Fair Work related matters.
• Coaching leaders to build capability and confidence in managing employee relations matters.
• Facilitating workshops and training sessions on workplace relations topics and best practice people leadership.
• Identifying emerging trends and escalating high-risk matters appropriately.
• Contributing to process improvement initiatives and projects focused on enhancing workplace relations outcomes across the Group.
