Job summary

McDonald’s Australia is seeking an experienced workplace investigations leader to join our Legal team as Manager, Workplace Investigations on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll lead investigations from start to finish, advise leaders on sensitive matters and help shape policies across the business.

This role requires excellent report writing, a solid understanding of Australian employment law, and the ability to partner with Legal, People and Operations to deliver timely, compliant outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex workplace investigations and employee relations matters in a fast-paced or operational environment.
• Strong understanding of Australian employment law and Modern Awards.
• Excellent writing and report-writing skills, plus confidence working with stakeholders.
• Sound judgement, discretion and a steady hand with sensitive matters.
• Analytical mindset and comfort working with data to identify risks and trends.
• Ability to work independently, juggle priorities and collaborate across teams.
• A tertiary qualification in Business, HR, Law or related field is a bonus but not essential.
• McDonald's restaurant experience is a real plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex workplace investigations from start to finish, including conduct, bullying, harassment and discrimination matters.
• Coach leaders on performance, misconduct, grievances and workplace concerns.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, Modern Awards and enterprise agreements, and stay across new laws and regulations.
• Turn data into insight by spotting trends and emerging risks, then provide practical recommendations to senior leaders.
• Shape policy and governance by reviewing and building workplace relations policies, procedures and frameworks.
• Design and deliver training, build capability and support Workplace Relations Specialists.
• Partner across Legal, People and Operations to ensure consistent and effective outcomes.
