Fondly known as "Macca's", we have been a household name in Australia for over 50 years, we believe that our customers are the heart and soul of everything we do and make it our mission to make every moment count! As an employer of choice winner time and time again, working with us means taking pride and having fun along the way; while growing and developing your career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Could you be our next Manager, Workplace Investigations?

At McDonald's, our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we're committed to making sure every one of them feels safe, respected and fairly treated at work. We're looking for an experienced workplace relations professional to join our Legal team as Manager, Workplace Investigations on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You'll be the subject matter expert on workplace relations, people compliance and people practices across McDonald's Australia. You'll lead complex investigations from start to finish, advise leaders on sensitive matters and help shape the policies and frameworks that guide how we work.

What you can expect on a day-to-day basis:

  • Leading complex workplace investigations from start to finish, including conduct, bullying, harassment and discrimination matters. You'll run interviews, weigh up evidence and write clear, well-reasoned reports and recommendations
  • Being a trusted advisor who coaches leaders on performance, misconduct, grievances and workplace concerns
  • Keeping us compliant and ahead of change. You'll make sure we meet our obligations under employment legislation, Modern Awards and enterprise agreements, and stay across new laws and regulations
  • Turning data into insight by spotting trends and emerging risks, then giving senior leaders practical recommendations
  • Shaping policy and governance by reviewing and building workplace relations policies, procedures and frameworks
  • Building capability by designing and delivering training, supporting Workplace Relations Specialists and leading quality assurance
  • Partnering across the business with Legal, People and Operations teams so outcomes are consistent and effective

Your keys to success:

  • Experience managing complex workplace investigations and employee relations matters in a fast-paced or operational environment
  • A strong understanding of Australian employment law and Modern Awards
  • Excellent writing and report-writing skills, plus confidence working with stakeholders
  • Sound judgement, discretion and a steady hand with sensitive matters
  • An analytical mindset and comfort working with data to identify risks and trends
  • The ability to work on your own, juggle priorities and collaborate across teams
  • A tertiary qualification in Business, HR, Law or a related field is a bonus but not essential
  • McDonald's restaurant experience is a real plus. Your understanding of how our business runs on the ground will set you apart

Relish in the Macca's difference when you join the Golden Arches:

  • Flexible Work Environment. Our teams have embraced a hybrid working model, balancing working remotely and connecting in the office to support our people and how they best add value.
