Job summary

BEST Employment is recruiting for a Workforce Adviser based in Armidale to support the Workforce Australia program. You will work with jobseekers from diverse backgrounds to navigate barriers to employment and connect them with local employers and resources.

The role offers full-time and part-time options in a community-focused, not-for-profit environment with salary sacrifice opportunities and various staff benefits. Travel to surrounding areas may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Class C driver’s licence.
• Clear National Criminal History Check.
• Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience in client advocacy and barrier management is desirable.
• Experience in administration, customer service or case management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support jobseekers from diverse backgrounds to progress through employment barriers.
• Foster relationships with local employers, businesses and community resources to enable meaningful matches.
• Provide operational support across the Armidale region as needed, with travel to surrounding areas.

We are currently recruiting for two permanent positions at our Armidale site:

• Full-time (38 hours per week)
• Part-time (24 hours per week)

As a Workforce Adviser for our Workforce Australia department, you will work closely with people from diverse backgrounds to support them in progressing through the specific barriers they each face when it comes to looking for employment. Responsible for fostering relationships with local jobseekers, employers, businesses, and community resources, you will support your customers along their journeys to meaningful employment within your local community. BEST prides itself on ensuring that appropriate matches with employment are made, with the needs and passions of the customer at the forefront of the services we provide.

At times, the position may require day travel to provide operational support to surrounding areas, where access to a company vehicle will be provided.

• Previous experience in client-advocacy and barrier management (desired).
• Previous administration, customer service or case management experience (desired).
• Class C Driver's Licence
