Job summary

BEST Employment in Dubbo is seeking a Lead Workforce Adviser to support diverse jobseekers under the Workforce Australia program. This permanent, full-time role, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, involves managing a tailored caseload and guiding employers and community partners to achieve outcomes.

You will work with the Area Manager to drive performance, maintain compliance, and deliver contract targets.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working under the Workforce Australia contract or in an employment services role.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
• Demonstrated experience in meeting/exceeding targets.
• Experience managing a caseload, engaging, motivating, mentoring, and progressing individuals; or experience in a customer facing role and passion for providing exceptional customer service.
• Ability to persevere when faced with resistance; maintain a positive attitude and stable performance under pressure.
• Familiarity with contractual frameworks, privacy principles, and accurate record-keeping or willingness to diversify knowledge.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, both in person and remotely.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and effectively, adapting communication style as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead Workforce Adviser duties within Workforce Australia, supporting diverse jobseekers to overcome barriers to employment and achieve meaningful work outcomes.
• Manage a tailored caseload and provide day-to-day operational support to the team.
• Build relationships with customers, employers and community stakeholders and support the Area Manager to drive performance and contract targets.
• Occasional day travel to surrounding areas with a company vehicle provided.

About the Role:

This is a permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week, Monday to Friday) based at our Dubbo site.

As a Lead Workforce Adviser within our Workforce Australia team, you will support people from diverse backgrounds to overcome barriers to employment and achieve meaningful work outcomes. Combining tailored caseload management with day-to-day operational support for the team, you will build strong relationships with customers, employers, and community stakeholders while supporting the Area Manager to drive team performance, operational outcomes, and contract targets. At BEST, we place the needs, strengths, and aspirations of each customer at the heart of everything we do.

At times, the position may require day travel to provide operational support to surrounding areas, where access to a company vehicle will be provided.

About You:

Skills, Experience and Attributes:

• Demonstrated experience working under the Workforce Australia contract or in a Workforce Adviser or employment services role, with a strong understanding of compliance, case management, and employment outcome strategies

Qualifications, Licences and Checks:

• Relevant qualifications in Employment Services and/or Community Services desired, but not essential.
• Current Driver’s License (Class C or above).
• Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
