Job summary

First Sentier Group is seeking a Workday Applications Specialist to support the reliable operation of Workday across the employee lifecycle. You will configure, maintain and improve Workday while delivering responsive support and protecting data quality and system controls.

You will collaborate with People & Culture, Technology and payroll teams, manage incidents, implement approved changes, and support releases with thorough testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting or administering Workday across HCM, Core Compensation, Absence, Recruiting, Talent, Security or Reporting.
• Experience managing incidents, service requests, defects and system enhancements within an established support framework.
• Hands-on experience with Workday configuration, including business processes, condition rules, notifications, security, calculated fields and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day Workday application support, triaging and resolving incidents and service requests within agreed service levels.
• Configure approved changes to business processes, reports, notifications, condition rules, security and related Workday components.
• Investigate system and data issues, identify root causes and coordinate remediation.
• Support Workday feature releases by reviewing changes, assessing impacts, coordinating testing and updating documentation.
• Partner with People & Culture teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions aligned with global design principles.
• Prepare and execute test scenarios and support user acceptance testing and deployment activities.
• Monitor data quality, integration outcomes and system controls, escalating risks or recurring issues as appropriate.
• Maintain configuration workbooks, operating procedures, knowledge articles and end-user guidance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of Workday services, support processes and employee experience.

About the role

The Workday Applications Specialist supports the reliable, secure and effective operation of Workday across the employee lifecycle. The role partners with People & Culture, Technology, payroll and business stakeholders to configure, maintain and continuously improve Workday, while delivering responsive support and protecting data quality and system controls.

About you

Your experience and skills

• Experience supporting or administering Workday across areas such as HCM, Core Compensation, Absence, Recruiting, Talent, Security or Reporting.
• Experience managing incidents, service requests, defects and system enhancements within an established support framework.
• Hands-on experience with Workday configuration, including business processes, condition rules, notifications, security, calculated fields and reporting.
• Exposure to Workday releases, regression and user acceptance testing, and production deployments.
• Experience working with HR data, integrations and downstream systems is desirable.
• Experience within a global, regulated or financial services environment would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on root cause, data accuracy and controls.
• Ability to gather requirements, document solutions, prepare test scripts and maintain clear system and process documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and practically.
• Well organised, with the ability to balance day-to-day operational support with planned system changes.
• Sound judgement when handling confidential employee data and system access.
• Collaborative approach with a willingness to share knowledge and work effectively across a global team.
