Job summary

University of the Sunshine Coast is seeking a motivated officer to coordinate student placements within UniSC’s Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team. You will provide specialist administrative support, manage placement records and advise on placement requirements across undergraduate, postgraduate and HDR programs.

You will bring an Advanced Diploma with 4+ years of relevant experience, strong organisational skills and a customer-focused approach to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Completion of an advanced diploma, with at least 4 years of subsequent relevant experience or equivalent.
• Strong organisational and administrative capabilities, with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Attention to detail in data entry, reporting and systems maintenance.
• Knowledge of Work Integrated Learning in higher education and related policies.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team, within UniSC’s Academic Support Unit, plays a vital role in connecting students with meaningful industry placement experiences that enhance their employability and professional development. Providing specialist support across undergraduate, postgraduate and higher degree by research programs, the team ensures placement activities meet university requirements, regulatory obligations and industry expectations.

You will play a key role in connecting students with high-quality placement experiences that enhance their learning and prepare them for professional success. Providing specialist operational and administrative support across a diverse portfolio of placements, you will independently coordinate placement activities, offer expert advice on placement requirements, maintain critical systems and records, and build strong relationships with host organisations, academics and internal stakeholders. Your work will directly contribute to expanding and enhancing work-integrated learning opportunities and ensuring students and partners are supported throughout every stage of the placement journey, in alignment with UniSC’s strategic priorities.

You will

• Provide high-quality, timely and accurate administrative and operational services supporting the University's Work Integrated Learning (WIL) courses and student placements;
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, academic and professional staff, and external host organisations to facilitate suitable, safe and successful WIL experiences; and
• Apply WIL knowledge, University policies and procedures to resolve operational issues and contribute to the continuous improvement of WIL systems, processes and services.

You bring strong administrative capability, excellent stakeholder relationship skills and the ability to navigate complex processes while maintaining a focus on service excellence. You are proactive, solutions-focused and committed to creating positive outcomes for students and industry partners alike.

You will possess:

• Completion of an advanced diploma, combined with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent experience and/or education/training;
• Well-developed organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to independently plan and prioritise work, coordinate competing requirements and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment;
• Demonstrated customer service skills and a results-oriented approach, with the ability to provide timely and appropriate advice to diverse stakeholders;
• Well-developed attention to detail, data entry, communication and reporting skills, including proficiency in the University's Placement Management System and other relevant technologies;
• Well-developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with students, academic and professional staff, and external host organisations;
• Demonstrated ability to work independently under general direction, exercise initiative and sound judgement, interpret and apply policies and procedures, resolve problems and make appropriate decisions, escalating matters where required;
• Demonstrated ability to apply established policies and procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of work processes, systems and documentation; and
• Demonstrated knowledge of Work Integrated Learning in the higher education sector, including relevant University policies, procedures and regulatory and accreditation requirements.
