Job summary

Outcast Clothing on the Gold Coast is seeking a Product Developer & Technician to turn designs into production-ready garments. You’ll manage development from concept to bulk approval, collaborate with Design, and ensure fit, quality, construction and commercial viability.

You’ll lead technical packs, assess fabrics and trims, coordinate with offshore suppliers, and support continuous product innovation while upholding Outcast’s fast-paced, people-first culture.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Product Developer, Garment Technician or Technical Product Development in womenswear.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, pattern making and production processes.
• Experience creating Technical Packs and technical specifications.
• Excellent knowledge of fabrics, trims and garment construction.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using Style Arcade or similar PLM system.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities & meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with offshore suppliers.
• Proactive, detail-oriented mindset with passion for fashion and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical development from concept through to bulk approval.
• Create and maintain Technical Packs, specifications and drawings using Illustrator.
• Assess fabric and trim viability to meet quality and production standards.
• Prepare for and participate in fit sessions with technical recommendations.
• Measure development samples, update specs and ensure grading & tolerances are accurate.
• Collaborate with Design to achieve desired fit and design intent.
• Liaise with offshore suppliers and manage technical queries & timelines.
• Identify and resolve technical/production issues with practical solutions.
• Maintain product information and sample libraries across systems.
• Research new fabrics and construction techniques to drive innovation.
