Job summary

Oroton is seeking an established Womenswear Designer to join its Mainline Apparel team in Melbourne, blending creative vision with commercial execution. You will work with the Creative Leadership team to shape seasonal collections, balancing concept with fabrications, fit and production realities.

Partner with design, production, patternmaking, garment technology and merchandising to bring collections to life, while maintaining meticulous design documentation and hands-on involvement throughout

Qualifications

• Experienced womenswear designer in premium lifestyle or fashion.
• Strong creative eye with ability to translate ideas into commercially relevant product.
• Hands-on with design, collaboration and administrative tasks.
• Portfolio demonstrates distinctive design handwriting and execution.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to seasonal design concepts, colour palettes, fabrications, silhouettes and collection direction.
• Design and develop womenswear product aligned to Oroton’s brand DNA and aesthetic.
• Create detailed technical sketches, specifications and design documentation.
• Support the development of product from initial concept through sampling and production.
• Work closely with the Senior Designer to evolve and refine the collection.
• Research fashion, colour, fabrication, trend and market direction to inform seasonal design.
• Collaborate with Production, Patternmaking, Garment Technology and Merchandising to ensure design intent is maintained through to final product.
• Review samples and provide feedback on fit, fabrication, construction and finish.
• Maintain accurate design documentation, samples and product information.
