Job summary

Bunjil Composites Pty Ltd is seeking reliable Wind Turbine Technicians to support across wind energy projects in Australia. The role involves maintenance, service and construction activities on turbines, with work in towers, nacelles and hubs, while adhering to OEM and client procedures.

Casual/project-based positions offer exposure to a variety of turbine platforms, with accommodation or allowances depending on project. GWO BST and mechanical trade experience are valued.

Qualifications

• GWO BST or equivalent required to safely perform turbine maintenance.
• Wind turbine construction/maintenance experience preferred.
• Must be able to work at heights and pass medical checks.
• Valid driver’s license required and commitment to safety procedures.
• GWO BTT experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Carry out wind turbine maintenance, servicing and general mechanical works per OEM/client procedures.
• Assist with wind turbine construction, installation and commissioning activities.
• Perform inspection, preventative and corrective maintenance and component replacement.
• Use hand tools, power tools, hydraulic tooling and turbine maintenance equipment safely.
• Work safely within turbine towers, nacelles and hubs, at height as required.
• Complete service reports, inspection records and checklists accurately.
• Follow site WHS requirements, SWMS, Take 5s and client procedures.
• Collaborate with technicians, supervisors and client representatives on site.

The role involves a range of wind turbine construction, maintenance and service activities across wind farm projects in Australia. Depending on project requirements, work may include mechanical maintenance, inspection, component replacement, troubleshooting, installation support and general turbine service activities.

Key responsibilities

Carry out wind turbine maintenance, servicing and general mechanical works in accordance with OEM and client procedures.

Assist with wind turbine construction, installation and commissioning activities where required.

Perform inspection, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and component replacement.

Use hand tools, power tools, hydraulic tooling and other turbine maintenance equipment safely and correctly.

Work safely within turbine towers, nacelles and hubs, and at height as required.

Complete service reports, inspection records, checklists and other project documentation accurately.

Follow site WHS requirements, SWMS, Take 5s, client procedures and OEM work instructions.

Work effectively with other technicians, supervisors and client representatives on site.

About you

Current GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) or recognised equivalent.

Previous wind turbine construction, maintenance or service experience.

Comfortable working at heights and climbing wind turbine towers.

Physically fit and able to meet wind farm medical and Drug & Alcohol screening requirements.

Valid driver's licence.

Strong commitment to safety and following site procedures.

Mechanical trade qualification, Mechanical Fitter background or relevant mechanical experience (highly regarded).

GWO BTT – Mechanical + Bolt Tightening (highly regarded).

Previous experience with major wind turbine OEMs (highly regarded).
