Job summary

AGL is seeking a Wind Service Technician for its Renewables team at the Wattle Point Wind Farm, SA. The role supports day-to-day maintenance, safety checks and asset reliability across South Australia and Victoria.

The successful candidate will have electrical or mechanical trade qualifications, HV experience, and a practical approach to working at heights and in isolated locations. Join a team delivering cleaner energy with strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical trade qualification with relevant licence.
• HV certification preferred.
• Experience with HV/LV systems, hydraulics and mechanicals in industrial contexts.
• Understanding of wind farm operations and maintenance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and breakdown maintenance, servicing, inspection, and monitoring of wind farm assets.
• Prepare work records and reports, including input into SAP.
• Adhere to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) systems and AGL safety standards.
• Conduct Hazard Risk Analysis and Job Safety Analysis as required.
• Ensure compliance with Safe Access Rules and participate in toolbox and safety meetings.
• Receive Access Authorities and progress to Recipient In Charge (RIC) if required.
• Supervise contractors and service providers to ensure safe and high-quality work.
• Provide on-the-job training and mentor team members to sustain skill and safety levels.
• Collaborate across the business and contribute to overall success.

About The Role

AGL’s Renewables team based at the Wattle Point Wind Farm are looking for a Wind Service Technician to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our wind farms across South Australia and Victoria, helping deliver AGL’s vision for a sustainable future.

Location: Based at the Wattle Point Wind Farm, located 3 kilometres southwest of Edithburgh on the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. This site has been operational since 2005 and generates enough renewable energy to power about 50,000 average Australian homes.

This is a hands‑on technical role focused on maintaining and servicing wind farm assets to ensure reliability, safety, and optimal performance.

What You Will Be Doing

• Perform routine and breakdown maintenance, servicing, inspection, and monitoring of wind farm assets

• Provide and receive on‑the‑job training, mentoring team members to maintain high skill and safety standards

What You Will Bring

You’re a skilled technician with a strong mechanical or electrical background, passionate about renewable energy and safety.

• Electrical (Preferred) OR Mechanical Trade qualification (with a “disconnect reconnect” licence preferred but not required).
• HV certification (preferred)
• Experience with HV/LV systems, hydraulics, and mechanical systems in industrial, commercial, or residential environments
• Understanding of wind farm operations and maintenance for safe, efficient performance
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration
• Self‑motivated with excellent time management and ability to work independently and in a team
• Valid Victorian or South Australian driver’s license (depending on asset location)
• Willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Additional desirable qualifications: GWO training, working at heights, manual handling, HV/LV rescue, fire awareness, first aid
