Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a qualified Electrician to maintain and troubleshoot wind turbines at the Bango Wind Farm in NSW. You’ll perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, climb turbines, and work across site infrastructure while adhering to safety standards.

The role requires fault finding, use of GE manuals, and strong English communication. You’ll operate within a 37.5-hour week with overtime and on-call rosters; relocation assistance is available for suitable candidates.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician (NSW)
• Proficient in fault finding (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment)
• Proficient in using computer systems and tools for monitoring work and managing documentation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• A current unrestricted driver's license
• Ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights, comfortable with heights
• Commitment to the highest safety standards, high performance, continuous improvement and delivering the right solutions
• Independent, solutions-focused, and well-organized in managing tasks
• Open to travel to other sites as required

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines and site infrastructure
• Follow GE manuals, specifications, and work instructions to perform assigned tasks and inspections
• Conduct maintenance, fault finding, and high voltage switching operations as required
• Participate in annual maintenance, retrofit works, major component exchanges, and fault finding
• Use GE software tools to maintain reports and submit technical queries
• Ensure compliance with JSA, LOTO, EHS policies, and report issues promptly
• Make a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections
• Report errors, violations, incidents, or problems immediately using GE reporting systems
• Embrace a 37.5-hour work week, with opportunities for overtime as approved and participate in on-call rosters for after-hours or weekend work as directed

The 244MW wind farm became fully operational in 2023, featuring 46 GE Cypress Turbines, that produce enough electricity to power 144,000 homes and prevent 543,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually!
