Harrison McMillan Pty Ltd, partnering with WCHN, seeks an AS08 Work Health and Safety Team Leader to build and lead a new WHS service across hospital and community settings in Adelaide. The role focuses on translating safety priorities into practical improvements with clinical leaders and frontline teams.
You will shape safety capability, lead change, and develop a high-trust WHS service that supports staff wellbeing and safe patient care.
Bring your clinical background and WHS leadership to WCHN. Lead a new team and shape practical safety improvements across hospital and community services.
The Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) provides hospital and community services supporting women, babies, children and young people across South Australia.
WCHN is making an additional investment in work health and safety, creating new roles to strengthen its team and support workforce safety and wellbeing. This is an opportunity to join the team as it comes together and help shape practical improvements across hospital and community services.
Harrison McMillan is partnering with WCHN to recruit an AS08 Work Health and Safety Team Leader on a full time, ongoing basis.
You will lead a specialist team and shape a WHS service that people trust and turn to for support. Working with clinical leaders, managers and staff, you will translate safety priorities into practical improvements that respond to the realities of hospital and community services.
The role combines team development, strategic planning and operational leadership, with a focus on preventing harm and building lasting safety capability.
A clinical background is essential for this role, alongside demonstrated WHS experience. You understand the pressures of healthcare delivery and can build strong working relationships with clinical leaders and frontline teams.
You care about the people behind the work and bring a strong commitment to preventing workplace harm. You take the time to understand how teams work, ask questions and help them find solutions they can put into practice.
As a leader, you set clear expectations, share your knowledge and support your team to develop. You encourage an approachable, responsive service where staff feel comfortable raising concerns and asking for help.
You can influence senior leaders, navigate difficult conversations and maintain momentum through change. Your technical judgement is matched by curiosity, empathy and the determination to see improvements through.
WCHN’s values are Compassion, Respect, Equity, Accountability and Together for Excellence. These are reflected in listening to others, offering support, speaking up and taking responsibility for making things better. This role will help bring those behaviours into everyday safety practice.
