Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a Safety Lead to work with operational teams and leaders to strengthen work health and safety culture. You will monitor the WHS incident register, investigate incidents, participate in inspections and audits, and ensure corrective actions are completed.

You will support the implementation and continuous improvement of WHS policies and systems, collaborating with managers, employees, contractors and Health and Safety Representatives to address risks and training

Responsibilities

• Monitor the WHS incident register and investigate incidents.
• Participate in workplace inspections and audits, following through corrective actions.
• Review safety data, identify trends and keep WHS records up to date.
• Support the implementation and improvement of WHS policies, procedures and systems.
• Work with managers, employees and contractors to address safety risks and training needs.
• Observe work practices and promote safe behaviours to reduce risk.
