Job summary

MTC FutureReady in Marrickville, NSW, is seeking a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to lead the development and continuous improvement of our WHS framework across MTC FutureReady and MTC Recruitment Limited. You will partner with leaders to drive proactive risk management and a positive safety culture.

Reporting to the General Manager, Governance, Risk & Compliance, you will advise on legislation, oversee audits, return-to-work programs and staff wellbeing initiatives, and deliver

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience leading WHS initiatives and teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and compliance.
  • Experience managing workers' compensation and return-to-work programs.
  • Ability to develop and improve WHS systems and processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse WHS data to identify trends.
  • Current driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of MTC Group’s WHS framework, policies and management systems.
  • Provide expert WHS advice and guidance to leaders, managers and employees across MTC Group.
  • Drive a positive safety culture through stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and present WHS reports, metrics, risk analysis and compliance updates to senior leadership and governance committees.
  • Monitor WHS legislation, regulations and industry developments to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice.
  • Facilitate internal and external WHS audits and oversee corrective actions.
  • Manage WHS governance processes, including WHS Committee meetings and action tracking.
  • Lead hazard identification, risk assessments and risk controls.
  • Investigate incidents, injuries and near misses and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Oversee workers compensation and injury management programs, including return-to-work processes.
  • Collaborate with insurers, rehabilitation providers and regulatory authorities to support injury management outcomes.
  • Analyze WHS and claims data to identify trends and implement preventative measures.
  • Develop and deliver WHS training, education and awareness programs.
