Job summary

ANSTO, Australia’s federal nuclear science and technology organisation, invites applications for a Work Health and Safety Management Systems Coordinator. You will help develop and maintain the WHS Management System, support the Safety Consultation Framework and contribute to a nationally significant science and innovation agenda.

The role offers an on-site campus environment in the Sutherland Shire area with linked career progression, childcare, cafe facilities and generous leave provisions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the ANSTO Work Health and Safety Management System (WHS MS) by developing and maintaining documentation in accordance with feedback from stakeholders, WHS, ARPANSA and other relevant legislative and compliance requirements to retain ISO45001 certification and achieve best safety practice.
  • Support the implementation of ANSTOs Safety Consultation Framework.
  • Prepare communications to support safety awareness across ANSTO in various mediums to ensure information is shared across ANSTO for best safety practice.
  • Assist the review and update of safety training materials to reflect current Work Health & Safety Management System and updates as they occur and support delivery of in-house safety related training, as required.
  • Assist with other safety compliance activities such as management system audits, inspections and investigations to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement improvement actions as identified.
  • Support targeted WHS projects aimed at maintaining and improving ANSTO’s safety performance and culture; and
  • Build and maintain working relationships in a collaborative way within High Reliability and with Regulatory and Governance functions, Comcare, ARPANSA, and other networks for WHS and radiological safety.

As the Work Health and Safety Management Systems Coordinator, you will provide trusted advice, guidance and specialist support to Safety Operations and the teams across ANSTO to enable innovative research, engineering and operational activities to be conducted safely. Working collaboratively within our team and with our clients to support safety systems, compliance and training activities across the Organisation.

Your Duties and Responsibilities
