Job summary

ProFound People is partnering with an Australian R&D and manufacturing company to fill a Work and Health Safety Coordinator/Officer role. You will support day-to-day WHS activities, compliance, documentation, training and continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing operations.

The role suits someone hands-on, well-organised, and confident working with technical teams; you will drive risk assessments, incident investigations, inductions and toolbox talks while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Experience in a WHS Officer, Coordinator, or similar role.
• Cert IV in WHS or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management.
• Experience with WHS documentation, reporting, and compliance processes.
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and maintenance of WHS policies and procedures.
• Assist with risk assessments, hazard identification, and control measures.
• Maintain WHS records, registers, documentation, and reporting.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Coordinate WHS inductions, training, and toolbox talks.
• Monitor compliance with Australian WHS legislation and standards.
• Conduct workplace inspections and follow up on safety actions.
• Support managers and employees with day to day WHS queries.
• Contribute to ongoing safety initiatives and continuous improvement.
