Job summary

Zenergy Group is partnering with an established organisation to recruit an experienced HSE Manager or HSE Business Partner for an initial 3–6 month contract across NSW sites, including Sydney and Wollongong. Reporting to National HSE Manager, you will provide practical, hands-on safety support, lead investigations, risk assessments and drive a proactive safety culture with frontline teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Work Health & Safety or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in an HSE Advisor/Senior Advisor/Business Partner or Manager role.
• Experience across manufacturing, mining, engineering, utilities, infrastructure or other high-risk environments.
• Strong practical understanding of operational risk management, incident investigations and workplace safety.
• Proven ability to engage with operational managers, supervisors and frontline employees.
• Approachable, collaborative and solutions-focused, with the ability to influence positive safety behaviours.
• Comfortable working autonomously while partnering with wider HSE leadership.
• Willingness to travel between NSW sites.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and full Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible, hands‑on HSE support across multiple operational sites.
• Build strong relationships with site management, supervisors and frontline employees to promote positive safety behaviours.
• Identify operational hazards and support the implementation of practical risk management initiatives.
• Lead and support incident investigations, risk assessments and corrective action management.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety observations, toolbox talks and pre‑start meetings.
• Coach operational teams to strengthen safety awareness, accountability and engagement.
• Support ongoing safety improvements and operational initiatives.
• Travel between sites to provide practical HSE support and guidance to operational teams.
• Support compliance with relevant WHS legislation, procedures and operational safety requirements.

Zenergy is partnering with an established organisation operating across multiple sites in NSW to recruit an experienced HSE Manager or HSE Business Partner for an initial 3–6 month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE Advisor, Business Partner or Manager to take ownership of operational safety across a diverse working environment, partnering closely with site leadership and frontline teams to strengthen safety engagement, awareness and performance.

About the Role

Reporting to the National HSE Manager, you will provide practical, hands‑on safety support across multiple operational sites, with offices located in Sydney and Wollongong.

The role has a strong focus on operational safety rather than systems administration, requiring somebody who enjoys being visible on site, engaging with frontline employees and working collaboratively with operational leaders to identify risks and implement practical solutions.

You will play an important role in supporting operational teams, building relationships and driving a positive, proactive safety culture.

The organisation is open to experienced HSE Managers or capable Senior Advisors and Business Partners looking to step into a broader role, with guidance and support available from an experienced National HSE Manager.
