Job summary

GLT is seeking an experienced Workplace Health & Safety Advisor to strengthen our safety culture and support our people to arrive and leave work safely every day.

Reporting to the People, Culture & Safety Manager, you will partner with leaders and teams to review, improve WHS systems, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing and operations. This is a hands-on role with real impact on safety performance.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a WHS Advisor, Coordinator or similar role.
• Experience within manufacturing, engineering, transport, construction or another operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, compliance obligations and contemporary safety practices.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing and improving WHS systems, governance and compliance frameworks.
• Experience conducting investigations, audits, risk assessments and safety training.
• Return-to-Work and injury management experience.
• Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to strengthen a proactive and accountable safety culture.
• Build relationships across all levels of the business, from apprentices and tradespeople through to senior leaders.
• Review, maintain and continuously improve WHS systems, processes and governance frameworks.
• Identify opportunities to enhance compliance, simplify processes and improve operational effectiveness.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments and safety observations.
• Lead investigations into incidents, hazards and near misses, driving effective corrective actions.
• Analyse WHS performance data and identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Deliver engaging inductions, toolbox talks, training and safety communications.
• Coordinate return-to-work and injury management activities.
• Support environmental compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
