Job summary

Talent International is recruiting a WHS Advisor to work for the NSW Government, based in Parramatta. This contract role is up to 12 July 2027, with the possibility of extension, paying between $71.99 - $79.69 per hour + Super.

You will provide high-quality Work Health and Safety services across the Housing Portfolio, supporting a whole-of-lifecycle approach to safety and promoting a culture of risk awareness and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience delivering WHS advice and support.
• Sound understanding of current WHS legislation, policies and obligations.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely WHS advice to support compliance with policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
• Review and improve WHS systems, policies and procedures to meet obligations.
• Conduct WHS audits and recommend practical improvement strategies.
• Support teams with hazard identification, risk assessments and safe work practices.
• Assist with investigations into incidents, hazards and near misses, including corrective actions.
• Coordinate WHS committees and facilitate workshops to support consultation, communication and issue resolution.
• Prepare WHS performance reports and risk metrics for senior management.
• Monitor duress system usage.
• Support WHS requirements relating to contractors and procurement.

About the role

You will provide high-quality Work Health and Safety services across the Housing Portfolio, supporting a whole-of-lifecycle approach to safety and promoting a culture of risk awareness and safe work practices.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will provide expert WHS advice and support the implementation and improvement of WHS management systems and risk management programs. Your work will cover legislative compliance, contractor and supplier safety, consultation, audit, monitoring and performance reporting.
