Job summary

Talent International is recruiting a WHS Advisor to support the NSW Government in Parramatta. This contract role runs up to 12 July 2027 with potential extension, paying between $71.99 - $79.69 per hour plus super.

You will deliver high-quality WHS services across the Housing Portfolio, promoting a culture of risk awareness and safe work practices. Working with internal stakeholders, you’ll provide expert WHS advice, implement and improve WHS management systems, and contribute to risk management

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in WHS or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience delivering WHS advice and support.
• Sound understanding of current WHS legislation, policies and obligations.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely WHS advice and guidance to support compliance with policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
• Review and improve WHS systems, policies and procedures to meet organisational and legislative obligations.
• Conduct WHS audits and recommend practical improvement strategies.
• Support teams with hazard identification, risk assessments, risk management and safe work practices.
• Assist with investigations into incidents, hazards and near misses, including identifying and monitoring corrective actions.
• Coordinate WHS committees and facilitate internal stakeholder workshops to support consultation, communication and issue resolution.
• Prepare WHS performance reports and risk metrics for senior management.
• Monitor and report on duress system usage.
• Support WHS requirements relating to contractors, suppliers and procurement.
• Tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience delivering WHS advice and support.
• Sound understanding of current WHS legislation, policies and obligations.

About the role

You will provide high-quality Work Health and Safety services across the Housing Portfolio, supporting a whole-of-lifecycle approach to safety and promoting a culture of risk awareness and safe work practices.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will provide expert WHS advice and support the implementation and improvement of WHS management systems and risk management programs. Your work will cover legislative compliance, contractor and supplier safety, consultation, audit, monitoring and performance reporting.
