Job summary

ResMed is seeking a Wellbeing Specialist – Occupational Health & Return to Work to bring health, rehabilitation and injury management expertise to the workplace. Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in allied health, health sciences, occupational health or rehabilitation.
• Registration or professional accreditation in an allied health discipline such as nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy or exercise physiology.
• Formal Return to Work Coordinator training or equivalent accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Lead Return to Work and injury management, coordinating individual recovery plans.
• Collaborate with employees, leaders, treating practitioners, insurers and health teams.
• Translate medical advice into practical workplace adjustments and suitable duties.

We are looking for a Wellbeing Specialist – Occupational Health & Return to Work to bring health, rehabilitation and injury management expertise together with practical workplace solutions to help our people stay healthy, recover well and return to work safely. Drawing on your experience in allied health, occupational health, rehabilitation or injury management, you will be a trusted partner to employees and leaders across our Australian operations. You will take the lead on Return to Work and injury management, working closely with employees, leaders, treating practitioners, insurers and our People and Health & Safety teams to achieve safe and sustainable recovery outcomes. Beyond individual case management, you will also help shape our broader approach to workplace health – strengthening first aid coordination, health surveillance, ergonomics, injury prevention and wellbeing initiatives. This is a hands‑on and highly collaborative role for someone who enjoys combining health expertise, problem‑solving and genuine human connection to make a visible difference to people's experience at work.

Lead Return to Work & Injury Management

• Develop and coordinate individual Return to Work and recovery-at-work plans.
• Work closely with employees, leaders, treating practitioners, rehabilitation providers and insurers.
• Translate medical advice, functional capacity and workplace restrictions into practical workplace adjustments and suitable duties.
• Maintain regular contact with employees throughout their recovery and proactively address barriers to successful Return to Work.
• Support effective workers compensation and injury management processes.
• Monitor outcomes and identify opportunities to continually improve our approach to injury management.
• Perform all administrative workers compensation and salary continuance functions including, but not limited to, initial notification, benefits calculation, wage reimbursements, claims correspondence, claim review facilitation and filing.
• Coordinate, facilitate and monitor progress in treatment, rehabilitation services and recovery at work plans through regular liaison with stakeholders and development of recovery at work plans.
• Monitor the performance of, and resolve concerns with, the Insurer, Financial Intermediary, Rehabilitation Provider, Legal Representation and other parties acting on our behalf on injury management matters.
• Maintain thorough and confidential records in line with laws and guidelines.

Bring Occupational Health Expertise to the Workplace

• You will provide practical occupational health guidance across our business.
• Supporting the assessment and follow-up of workplace injuries and health matters within your professional scope.
• Providing guidance to workplace first aiders and coordinating escalation to medical or allied health practitioners where required.
• Partnering with leaders to understand health restrictions and identify safe and appropriate workplace arrangements.
• Providing occupational health advice to Health & Safety, People and business leaders.
• Supporting workplace health assessment processes where appropriate.
• Maintaining strong governance, professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Strengthen First Aid & Workplace Health Programs

• Coordinating Resmed's workplace First Aid program and network of trained first aiders.
• Managing first aid training, refresher education and certification requirements.
• Supporting the appropriate maintenance of first aid rooms, kits, AEDs and related resources.
• Coordinating occupational health surveillance and health monitoring programs based on workplace risks and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinating initiatives such as audiometry, hearing conservation, health screening and vaccination programs.
• Using incident and injury trends to strengthen early intervention and preventative education.

Drive Prevention, Ergonomics & Wellbeing

• Provide practical ergonomic advice across manufacturing, operational and office environments.
• Undertake or coordinate ergonomic assessments and identify practical workplace solutions.
• Analyse injury, incident and health trends to identify emerging risks and prevention opportunities.
• Contribute occupational health expertise to risk assessments, workplace design and Health & Safety improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate and promote evidence-based health and wellbeing initiatives.
• Partner across the business to understand evolving workforce health and wellbeing needs and translate them into meaningful action.

You are an experienced allied health, occupational health or workplace rehabilitation professional who enjoys applying your expertise in a workplace environment. You understand that successful recovery at work requires more than managing an injury. It means understanding the individual, working effectively with treating practitioners and leaders, identifying barriers to recovery and finding practical solutions that enable people to return to meaningful and sustainable work. You are comfortable navigating complex injury and health matters, communicating sensitively with employees and confidently advising leaders. You bring sound professional judgement, strong case management capability and a practical, prevention-focused mindset. You will bring: Experience in occupational health, allied health, workplace rehabilitation, injury management or Return to Work. Strong knowledge of injury management and recovery-at-work principles. The ability to interpret medical and functional information and translate it into practical workplace arrangements. Experience working with employees, leaders, treating practitioners, rehabilitation providers and/or insurers. Strong case management and stakeholder engagement capability. Excellent communication, consultation and influencing skills. Sound judgement and discretion when managing sensitive health information. A proactive and prevention-focused approach to workplace health and wellbeing. Confidence working across manufacturing, operational and corporate environments.

Essential

• A relevant tertiary qualification in allied health, health sciences, occupational health, rehabilitation or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in workplace injury management, Return to Work, occupational rehabilitation or a related field.
• Knowledge of workers compensation, workplace rehabilitation and employer Return to Work obligations.
• Demonstrated experience managing workers compensation insurance claims and associated payments, including accurate record-keeping, reconciliation and coordination with insurers and internal stakeholders.
• Experience interpreting functional capacity, medical restrictions and workplace requirements.
• Strong case management, stakeholder engagement and documentation skills.
• Qualification and professional registration in an allied health discipline such as nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy or exercise physiology.
• Formal Return to Work Coordinator training or relevant accreditation.
• Previous experience in occupational health or workplace rehabilitation.
• Experience within manufacturing, medical devices, healthcare, engineering or another regulated environment.
• Experience supporting workplace first aid programs, occupational health surveillance or health monitoring.
• Experience in workplace ergonomics and injury prevention.
• Additional qualifications in occupational health, rehabilitation, ergonomics, injury management, health and safety or a related discipline.
