Job summary

Hester Hornbrook Academy invites applications for a Wellbeing for Learning Team Leader at the Geelong Campus. You will join the Campus Leadership Team to support daily operations and lead wellbeing for learning and learning for wellbeing across the campus, ensuring students receive the support needed to engage in education.

The role focuses on leading wellbeing, engagement and safety practices, coaching staff in a multidisciplinary setting and building strong referral networks with a commitment

Qualifications

• Experience leading, mentoring and coaching staff.

Wellbeing for Learning Team Leader - Geelong Campus

The Opportunity
Hester Hornbrook Academy is seeking an experienced and values-driven Wellbeing for Learning Team Leader to join its Geelong Campus.

As a key member of the Campus Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Head of Campus to support daily operations and lead Wellbeing for Learning and Learning for Wellbeing across the campus, ensuring young people receive the support they need to engage successfully in education.

About Hester Hornbrook Academy
Hester Hornbrook Academy is an independently registered Special Assistance School providing flexible, inclusive education for young people aged 15–25 who experience barriers to traditional learning.
Through its Healing Orientated Program of Education (HOPE), the Academy integrates learning, wellbeing and life skills to support young people to re-engage with education and pursue meaningful pathways.

About the Role
The Wellbeing for Learning Team Leader will provide leadership across student wellbeing, engagement and support practices at the Geelong Campus.
Key responsibilities include:

• Leading wellbeing and learning practices across the campus
• Coaching and supporting staff within a multidisciplinary environment
• Leading enrolment assessments, risk assessments and safety planning
• Supporting compliance with Child Safe Standards and VRQA requirements
• Building local referral pathways and community partnerships
• Using data and evidence to support continuous improvement

The role also includes a minimum of one day per week/four sessions within a classroom or program, maintaining a strong connection to students and frontline practice.

About You
You will bring demonstrated leadership experience and a strong understanding of the connection between wellbeing, engagement and educational success.
You will ideally have:

• Experience leading, mentoring and coaching staff
• Experience working with young people facing barriers to education
• Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches
• The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
• An understanding of child safety and relevant regulatory requirements
• The ability to use data and evidence to inform decision-making
