Job summary

Bupa Kempsey is seeking a Wellbeing Carer to bring joy and connection to residents, coordinating engaging activities and supporting daily living.

You’ll work with the Lifestyle Coordinator and care team, run arts, gardening, outings, and social events while upholding safety and empathy.

Previous elder care experience and a current First Aid certificate are preferred; drivers licence is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Experience in caring for elders in aged care or community settings.
• First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Australian driver’s licence preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Be the fun facilitator and help residents explore activities.
• Foster social connection through games, outings, and events.
• Assist with daily living tasks and provide companionship.
• Support residents with meals, mobility, and mood support.
• Gather feedback from residents and families to improve activities.
• Adhere to infection control and maintain a clean, safe environment.

About the Home

Bupa Kempsey is a modern care home located in the Mid North Coast region of NSW. It is situated in the historic Macleay Valley known for its cedar timber industry, the home of Slim Dusty and the iconic Akubra hat factory. It consists of 82 beds, with a variety of care units. Here's what you'll do:

Be the fun facilitator: You'll help residents explore their interests, both within the care home and beyond. From art classes and gardening clubs to day trips and movie nights, you'll make sure there's something for everyone.

Social butterfly extraordinaire: Whether it's a lively game of bingo or a quiet chat over afternoon tea, you'll be the friendly face who connects residents and fosters a sense of belonging.

More than just activities: You'll be a supportive companion, assisting with daily living like mealtimes and outings, and offering emotional support to those with cognitive impairment or mental health needs.

Resident champion: Your voice matters! You'll gather feedback through surveys and family conferences to ensure activities truly hit the mark.

Team player: You'll collaborate with the Lifestyle Coordinator and care team to plan activities, document progress, and elevate any concerns.

Hygiene hero: Keeping things clean and safe is essential. You'll follow infection control protocols and maintain a tidy environment.

Catering crewmate: You'll lend a hand with plating and serving meals, adhering to food safety standards and monitoring resident preferences.
