Job summary

Costa Group is seeking a Welfare and Wellbeing Officer to support Pacific Islands workers under the Seasonal Worker Programme and PALM. The role focuses on worker safety, accommodation management, and overall wellbeing during their time in Australia.

You will coordinate with farm teams, arrange medical appointments, and handle reporting and compliance while providing practical assistance to workers. The position is on-site with after-hours on-call coverage and potential for extension.

This varied, people-focused role is integral to the care andsupport of employees recruited from the Pacific Islands under the Department ofEmployment and Workplace Relations, who are employed directly by Costa. TheWelfare and Wellbeing Officer (WWO) ensures workers wellbeing, safety, andoverall experience during their time in Australia. The position is a fixed termposition with possibility to extend to a permeant position.

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

• Assistwith preparing accommodation before the cohort’s arrival and after theirdeparture.
• Conductregular accommodation inspections to ensure cleanliness and coordinatemaintenance as required.
• Ensureworker-related reports and documentation are accurate and compliant.
• Coordinatefleet vehicle maintenance to ensure workers are transported in safe androadworthy vehicles, including lodging and coordinating vehicle insuranceclaims where required.
• Organiseand support recreational trips.
• Collaboratewith farm teams on individual worker performance and provide support whereneeded.
• Conductwelfare and wellbeing checks with individual workers.
• Providepractical support to workers attending routine and emergency medicalappointments, where required.
• Ensureworkplace injuries, incidents and health-related concerns are reported andescalated promptly to the relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinatemedical and health insurance claims with the relevant medical healthinsurer.
• Assistwith worker arrival and departure requirements in accordance with theSeasonal Worker Programme (SWP) and Pacific Australia Labour Mobility(PALM) requirements.
• Coordinatefortnightly PALM team meetings to build rapport, encourage opencommunication and provide workers with an opportunity to raise questionsor concerns.

About you:

The successful candidate needs to be able to demonstratehigh levels of commitment and performance and will have;

• Adrivers license and their own reliable vehicle
• Stronginterpersonal and communication skills, both spoken and written
• Theability to work with sensitive information in a confidential environmentwith a high degree of integrity
• Attentionto detail and ability to manage compliance
• Preferablyprevious experience in a similar role working with SWP or PALM workers – howeverthis is not essential
• Comfortableworking autonomously and collaboratively with a variety of stakeholdersacross the business
• Theability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
• Excellentreporting and administration skills

The Welfare and Wellbeing Officer will participate in anafter-hours on-call arrangement to ensure support is available when needed,with rostered coverage and appropriate time off. The role also requiresflexibility to work in line with the group’s needs. To build strongrelationships, the successful candidate will regularly spend time with thegroup during early mornings and evenings, as well as on some weekends.
