Job summary

Downer Energy & Utilities is seeking casual Special Class Welders to support outage services at Kogan Creek Power Station in Brigalow, QLD. Start mid-August through October, with mechanical and project services during the outage.

You will apply expertise in piping setup, structural and welding fabrication, and boiler casings, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required standards, with day/night 11-hour shifts and a competitive EBA rate structure.

Qualifications

• Site Proficient with outages and heavy industrial projects.
• Team oriented with good communication in a team.
• Commitment to workplace safety for all personnel.
• Must hold confined spaces, working at heights certificates and white card.
• Trade welding qualifications required to pass an onsite weld test.

Responsibilities

• Apply piping setup, structural and welding fabrication.
• Weld for boiler casings and outage components to required standards.
• Perform work safely and efficiently during the outage period.

• Casual Role: DIDO outage, located at Kogan Creek Power Station in Brigalow, QLD, with potential for other project/outage work.
• Project Dates: Start date from mid-August, running approximately until October.
• Roster: Monday to Saturday, Days/Nights, 11-hour shifts.
• Competitive Rate:EBA rates + OT Penalties (from base rate) + Site Allowance.
• Other Benefits: Join a supportive team delivering Downers Kogan Creek outage. LAHA or Accommodation is provided to distant workers.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Downer's Energy & Utilities business is seeking casual Special Class Welders to provide outage services at Kogan Creek Power Station in Brigalow, QLD. Starting in August, Downer will offer mechanical and project services throughout the outage period. As a Special Class Welder, you will apply your expertise in piping setup, structural and welding fabrication, and boiler casings, ensuring that all work is completed safely, effectively, and to the required standards.

ABOUT YOU

• Site Proficient:Experienced in outages and projects in the power generation or heavy industrial sector
• Team Oriented:Have an ability to work effectively within a team with well-developed communication skills
• Workplace Safety: Committed to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your colleagues
• Qualifications: Enter and work in confined spaces (RIIWHS202E), Working at heights (RIIWHS204E) (within 2 years), Construction white card
• Trade certificate: All Welding qualifications will be required to complete an onsite weld test.
