Job Description

Wood Australia is seeking Expression of Interest for Special Class Welders with Power Industry experience to work to be a part of our team providing outage services for an upcoming project.

As a Special Class Welder, you will apply your expertise in piping setup, structural and welding fabrication, and boiler casings, Air Heaters ensuring that all work is completed safely, effectively, and to the required standards.

You will become part of a team focused on delivering solutions for our client’s assets in Queensland and create excellence delivery across assigned mechanical and welding scope of works.

Responsibilities
  • Site Proficient: Experienced in outages and projects in the power generation or heavy industrial sector
  • Team Oriented: Have an ability to work effectively within a team with well-developed communication skills
  • Workplace Safety: Committed to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your colleagues
  • Trade certificate: All Welding qualifications will be required to complete an onsite weld test
  • Experience with Air Heaters is an advantage. Previous shutdown experience

The role
  • Casual: DIDO or FIFO
  • Project Dates: February 2027
  • Roster: Monday to Saturday, Days/Nights, 11-hour shifts.
  • Competitive Base Rate with casual loading on all hours + Overtime + Site Allowance.
  • Other Benefits: Accommodation is provided to distant workers

The successful candidate will undergo a Wood medical check and will be required to provide certificates and WAH, CS tickets before undergoing the medical.
