Job summary

Downer Group Energy & Utilities is seeking casual Special Class Welders for outage services at Kogan Creek Power Station in Brigalow, QLD. Starting in mid-July, the role covers piping setup, structural and welding fabrication, and boiler casings to support the outage safely and to required standards.

Join a supportive team; LAHA or accommodation is available for distant workers. Rosters are Monday to Saturday, Days/Nights on 11-hour shifts, with competitive rates (EBA + penalties) and site

Qualifications

• Outages and projects in the power generation or heavy industrial sector.
• Confined spaces (RIIWHS202E) within 2 years and Working at Heights (RIIWHS204E).
• Construction white card is required.
• All welding qualifications required for an onsite weld test.

Responsibilities

• Provide outage services at Kogan Creek Power Station.
• Apply expertise in piping setup, structural and welding fabrication, and boiler casings.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, effectively and to required standards.

• Casual Role: DIDO outage, located at Kogan Creek Power Stationin Brigalow, QLD,with potential for other project/outage work.


• Project Dates:Start datefrom mid-July,running approximately until September.


• Roster: Monday to Saturday, Days/Nights, 11-hour shifts.


• Competitive Rate:EBA rates + OT Penalties (from base rate) + Site Allowance.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Downer's Energy & Utilities business is seeking casual Special Class Weldersto provide outage services at Kogan Creek Power Station in Brigalow, QLD. Starting in mid-July, Downer will offer mechanical and project services throughout the outage period. As a Special Class Welder, you will apply your expertise in piping setup, structural and welding fabrication, and boiler casings, ensuring that all work is completed safely, effectively, and to the required standards.

• Site Proficient:Experienced in outages and projects in the power generation or heavy industrial sector


• Team Oriented:Have an ability to work effectively within a team with well-developed communication skills


• Workplace Safety:Committed to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your colleagues


• Qualifications:Enter and work in confined spaces (RIIWHS202E), Working at heights (RIIWHS204E) (within 2 years), Construction white card


• Trade certificate: All Welding qualifications will be required to complete an onsite weld test.
