Job summary

Miro Bay Pty Ltd as Well Hung Glass and Aluminium is seeking an experienced Welder / Metal Fabricator to join our team in Aitkenvale, QLD. The role includes reading blueprints, welding with TIG/MIG, fabricating parts, and ensuring weld quality. Beneficial to have the ability to work overhead and in a team environment.

Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position with applications open 6 October 2026 and closing 6 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Read and analyse blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to TIG and MIG weld.
• Inspect welds for bead width, penetration and quality.
• Weld vertically, horizontally and overhead.
• Fabricate metal parts by cutting, rolling, shaping, bending, or finishing.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings to plan welds.

• Inspect and assure weld quality and dimensions.
• Fabricate and assemble metal parts and sub-assemblies.

Job description

Miro Bay Pty Ltd as Well Hung Glass and Aluminium is currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Welder / Metal Fabricator to join their team in Aitkenvale QLD.

The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

• Being able to read and analyse blueprints and drawings.
• Have the ability and experience to use a TIG and MIG welder.
• Examining welds for the width of bead, penetration, and precision
• Have the ability to weld vertically, horizontally and overhead.
• Be able to weld various metals using various techniques.
• Cut, roll, shape, bend, mould, spin, heat, or hammer metal products to fabricate parts or sub-assemblies.
• Heat treats metal parts and components.
• Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment.
• Assemble parts and structures by lining up and joining them by welding, bolting, or riveting.
• Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing, or bathing them in acid solutions, or by applying protective or decorative coatings.

Skills & Abilities:

• Certificate III in Engineering (Welding Fabrication) or equivalent qualification
• Minimum of three years' experience in this role or similar
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with experience.
